The Common Table
11. Storying Hong Kong's Coral Reefs and Science with Dr. Jonathan Cybulski
Welcome to Episode #11! Meet Dr. Jonathan Cybulksi.
He is a historical ecologist and science communicator, a National Geographic Explorer and Smithsonian Fellow.
On his TedX talk, you will discover more on Dr. Jonathan's current research focuses on the story of Hong Kong and Panama's pacific coral reefs - what they were like in the past, how they have grown and changed into their present state, and what this might mean for their persistence into the future.
With a hope to humanize science, Dr. Jonathan and I reflect on how the sciences have been perceived and how else to view it. Moreover, we marvel at the epic, yet very unspoken-of, marine biodiversity found in the Greater Bay Area.
